Transmission Oil Filter
• General repair instructions, refer to => [ General Repair Information ] Description and Operation.
• The transmission oil filter usually does not need to be replaced.
• Changing the transmission oil filter "yes or no", refer to => [ When To Change the Transmission Oil Filter ] Description and Operation.
Removing
- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.
- Remove the air filter housing.
- For vehicles with a diesel engine, remove the battery and the battery tray.
• A little bit of oil remains inside the filter. This will drain out once the filter is removed.
• Lay some cloths down near the oil filter before removing it.
- Loosen the oil filter housing - arrow - approximately 7 turns.
- Wait 10 seconds.
This way the oil can flow from the filter housing back into the transmission.
- Remove the oil filter housing and oil filter element.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
- Clean thoroughly any areas on the transmission that get wet with oil.
- Install the oil filter element with the collar - arrow - on the bottom.
- Install the oil filter housing and tighten it to 20 Nm.
Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.
