Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, for example, (VAS 5051)

Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Adapter for Oil Filling (VAS 6262 A)

Adapter for Filling ATF Oil (VAS 6262/2)

The adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262/6) must also be used on some containers.

It may be necessary to shorten the pipe on the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A).

Shorten the pipe on the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A) as follows:

- Shorten the pipe to 210 mm - a -. This assures the pipe on the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A) will not touch the bottom of some containers.

Dimension - a - is measured starting from the green surface in the cap on the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A).

- Shorten the pipe using the pipe cutter (VAS 6056/2).

Requirements:

The vehicle is level and all hoist supports are the same height.

The noise insulation has been removed.

The vehicle diagnostic tester is connected

The oil should not be warmer than 45 °C (113 °F) when starting the procedure.

Test temperature: 35-45 °C (95-113 °F)

Checking

- Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and identify the vehicle in Guided Functions.

- Select DSG transmission.

- Select Check Fluid Level.

Allow the transmission to cool down if the oil temperature is higher than 45 °C (113 °F).

The engine is idling and the selector lever is in the "P" position.

- Move the drip tray or the used oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission near the oil drain and check plug.

- Remove the oil drain and check plug - arrow -.

- Always replace the seal - arrow - on the plug.

Even if the oil level is too low, at first a small amount of oil will leak out of the overflow tube, because it fills during operation.

- Allow the excess oil to drain.

- Install the plug with a new seal as soon as all the oil has drained out (it starts to drip).

- If no oil comes out, then fill with oil.

Filling

- Install the quick release coupling from the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A) into the plug hole hand tight.

- Shake the container before opening.

- Attach the container to the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A). Be sure to read the instructions.

- Connect the oil filler adapter (VAS 6262) to the quick release coupling.

- Fill with 1 liter of oil.

If oil leaks out of the hole:

The oil must not be topped off.

- Allow the excess oil to drain.

- As soon as the oil has run out (it begins to drip), remove the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A) and install the plug with a new seal.

If no oil leaks out of the hole:

- Add another liter of oil. Refer to => [ DSG(R) Oil Level, Checking ] DSG(R) Oil Level, Checking.

Too little or too much DSG(R) oil will impair the transmission.

Oil drain and check plug tightening specification: 45 Nm
