Oil Pressure, Checking
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Oil Pressure Gauge (V.A.G 1342)
Procedure
• The oil level is OK
• The engine oil temperature is approximately 80 °C (176 °F).
• The specified values pertain to oil temperatures from approximately 80 °C (176 °F). Remove the dip stick for higher oil temperatures. Check, if necessary, if the oil temperature for this test is too high ( 120 °C (248 °F)), and if the specified values are not attained.
- Remove the oil pressure switch. Refer to => [ Oil Pressure Switch F1 ] Service and Repair.
- Connect the oil pressure gauge (V.A.G 1342) to the oil pressure switch.
- Install the oil pressure switch into the hole on the oil pressure gauge (V.A.G 1342).
- Start the engine.
• Oil pressure at idle: at least 0.6 bar.
• Oil pressure at 2000 RPM: at least 1.0 bar.
