Cylinder Head Cover






Cylinder Head Cover

Removing

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

- Remove the exhaust pressure sensor 1. Refer to => [ Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 G450 ] Service and Repair.

- Open the clips - arrows - and move the upper toothed belt guard to the right.






- Remove the fuel injectors and fuel rail. Refer to => [ Fuel Rail ] Fuel Rail.

- Press the release buttons and remove the crankshaft housing ventilation hose - 1 - from the cylinder head cover.






- Disconnect the connector - arrow - from the charge pressure actuator position sensor.






- Remove the vacuum lines from the bracket on the cylinder head cover.

- Loosen and remove the cylinder head cover bolts in the following sequence - 6 through 1 -.






- Remove the cylinder head cover.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Replace the cylinder head cover gasket and the cylinder head cover bolts if they are damaged or if there are leaks.

Replace the fuel injector seal and the grommet if they are damaged or leak.

- Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts in sequence - 1 through 6 -.






- Make sure the cylinder head cover is correctly attached to the toothed belt guard - arrows -.






The installed location is best shown with the camshaft sprocket removed.

- Check the clearance between the hub and the toothed belt guard.

- Install the fuel rail and injectors. Refer to => [ Fuel Rail ] Fuel Rail.

- Install the exhaust pressure sensor 1.
