Sunroof Assembly Unit







Sunroof Assembly Unit

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing






Perform the following:

- Lower the headliner but do not remove it from the vehicles.

- Remove the water drain hoses from the connections - arrows - on the assembly unit - 1 -.

- Remove the rear water drain hoses from the connections - arrows - on the assembly unit - 1 -.

- Disconnect the connector from the sunroof motor - 3 -.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- With a second technician helping, remove the bolts - 2 - and the assembly unit - 1 - from the vehicle.

Installation






- With a second technician helping, insert the assembly unit - 1 - into the roof opening.

- Line up the assembly unit - 1 - over the two cylindrical pins at the front right 12 mm - 4 - and rear left 10 mm - 3 - inside the roof.

Installation unit must not make contact with roof frame.

- Install the bolts - 2 - but do not tighten them.

- Check the routing of the electrical consumer wires and connectors on the roof and correct if necessary.

- Connect the connector from the sunroof motor - 5 -.

- Tighten the 2 bolts, right front and left rear on the positioning pins.

- Tighten the left and right bolts - 2 - on the assembly unit - 1 -.

- Tighten the front bolts - 2 - on the assembly unit - 1 -.

Tightening specification - 2 -: 8 Nm

- Attach the front water drain hoses to the connections - arrows - on the assembly unit - 1 -.

- Attach the rear water drain hoses to the connections - arrows - on the assembly unit - 1 -.

- Install headliner.
