Rear Door Limiter: Service and Repair

Door Strap

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Socket (3410)

• The following describes removing and installing the right door strap. Removing and installing the left door strap is identical.

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the rear door trim panel.

- Remove the speaker in the rear door.

- Remove the bolt - 3 - from the B-pillar.

- Remove the bolts - 2 - and remove the door strap - 1 - through the opening for the speaker.

Installation






Perform the following:

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing so, note the following:

• Pay attention the marking and the tab on the cover when installing the door strap - 1 -.

• Left rear door: L top - tab top

• Right rear door: R top - tab down

Tightening specification for bolts - 2 -: 9 Nm.

Tightening specification for the bolt - 3 -: 30 Nm.
