Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)

• The following describes removing and installing the right bracket. Removing and installing the left bracket is identical.

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the front door trim panel.

- Remove the cover. Refer to => [ Door Cover ] Door Cover.

- Remove the lock cylinder, refer to => [ Lock Cylinder ] Lock Cylinder or the housing. Refer to => [ Cap without Lock Cylinder ] Cap without Lock Cylinder.

- Remove the door handle. Refer to => [ Door Handle ] Door Handle.

- Remove the bolt - 4 - and then remove the backing - 3 -.

- Remove the bracket - 1 - from the front door - arrow a -.

Loosening the cable

- Release the retainer - 5 - and swivel it out of the mount - arrow b -.

- Remove the pin for the cable out of the mount - arrow c -.

- Remove the cable - 2 - from the bracket - 1 - - arrow d -.

Installation






Perform the following:

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing so, note the following:

Bolt - 4 - tightening specification: 1.5 Nm.
