Subwoofer in Rear Shelf (R157)

The subwoofer in rear shelf is inside the luggage compartment under the rear shelf.

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the key.






If the subwoofer starts to fall down after removing the first bolt, then the mounting tabs still connected will get damaged. Have a second technician hold the subwoofer if necessary.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 -.

- Remove the bolts - 1 -, - 3 -, - 4 - and - 5 -.

- Remove the subwoofer from the luggage compartment.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:






If the subwoofer starts to fall down after installing the first bolt, then then mounting tabs still connected will get damaged. Have a second technician hold the subwoofer if necessary.

- Lift the subwoofer in rear shelf - 2 - under the rear shelf - 1 -.

- Position the subwoofer in rear shelf so that the brackets line up with the nuts in the bracket in the rear shelf - 1 -.

- Tighten the bolts - 3 - on the subwoofer in rear shelf to the tightening specification (2 Nm).
