Selector Mechanism Overview, from 03.2009


Move the selector lever into the "P" position and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.






1 Shift Cover with Handle

• Do not remove the handle unnecessarily. Unclip only the cover for the emergency release. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Manual Release ] Procedures.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Handle ] Selector Handle.

2 Selector Lever and Mechanism with Cable

• With a integrated selector lever sensor system control module with selector lever, Tiptronic switch, selector lever park position warning switch and selector lever solenoid.

• The selector lever cable can only be replaced together with the selector mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Lever and Mechanism with Cable, from 03.2009 ] Selector Lever and Mechanism with Cable, from 03.2009.

• Do not grease the selector lever cable.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever and Mechanism with Cable, from 03.2009 ] Selector Lever and Mechanism with Cable, from 03.2009.

• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments

4 Nut with Collar

• 8 Nm

• Quantity: 4

6 Selector Lever Cable

• Must not be removed from the selector mechanism and is replaced together as a single component.
