2.0L Engine






Transmission, Installing

- Make sure the alignment sleeves are pressed into the engine flange.

- Make sure the intermediate plate fits correctly between the engine and the transmission. The plate must contact the engine along entire perimeter when pressing lightly against the engine using both hands. If it is above the engine, then it is not hooked into the cylinder block correctly.

- Make sure the torque converter is installed correctly. Refer to => [ Torque Converter, Installing ] Torque Converter, Installing.

Further installation is performed in the reverse sequence.

The engine and the transmission must be mounted free of tension.

- Replace all the bolts for the transmission mount/bracket.

- Install all new bolts by hand.

Tighten the transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts - 1 - to 40 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn when installing the bracket - A -.






- Align the engine and transmission in its installed position. Lift until the transmission mount bracket is touching the transmission mount completely.


Risk of damaging the threads in the transmission bracket by inserting the bolts crooked.

Before installing the bolts - 2 -, the transmission mount bracket and transmission mount must be absolutely parallel to each other. If necessary, lift the back of the transmission using the engine-/gearbox jack.

Adjust the old fit between both bolts using a screwdriver when tightening the mount/bracket bolts - 2 -. Tighten the two bolts to 60 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.

- Install the pendulum support.

- Install the drive axles to the transmission.

- Install the exhaust system so that it is free of tension.

- Install the starter.

- Connect the coolant hoses to the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) cooler and check the coolant level.

- Attach the selector lever cable to the transmission and adjust it. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.

- Install the plenum chamber cover.

- Install the radiator grille.

- Install the battery tray and the battery.

- Check the ATF level. Refer to => [ ATF Level, Checking and Filling ] Testing and Inspection.

- Install the noise insulation.

- Install the wheels.

- Perform a basic setting. Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and select "perform basic setting" under Guided Functions.
