Door Window

• The following describes removing and installing the right door window. Removing and installing the left door window is identical.

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the trim panel from the rear door.

- Lower the door window - 6 - until it stops.

• If it is not possible to do this because the window regulator motor is faulty - 7 -, then remove the motor. Refer to => [ Window Regulator Motor ] Window Regulator Motor.

• Then the door window can be moved.

- Remove inner window recess seal. Refer to => [ Inner Window Shaft Seal ] Inner Window Shaft Seal.

- Remove the outer window shaft seal. Refer to => [ Outer Window Recess Seal ] Outer Window Recess Seal.

- Remove the front part of the window guide (on the B-pillar). Refer to => [ Window Guide ] Window Guide.

- Pry the cap - 5 - out.

- Lift the door window - 6 - just enough until the expanding pin - 4 - and the spreader plug - 3 - are accessible in the opening for the window regulator - 2 -.

- Screw in a 5 mm bolt (approx. 70 mm long) into spreader pin - 4 - and pull out from spreader plug - 3 -.

- Now screw in a 8 mm bolt (approx. 80 mm long) into spreader plug - 3 -.

• When screwing the bolt into spreader plug, do not use excessive force on the plug otherwise it may fall inside into the door.

- Remove the spreader plug - 3 - from window regulator guide and thereby from door window.






- Remove the door window - 1 - from the window regulator - 3 - - arrows a -.

- Remove the door window - 1 - at an angle - arrows b - from the window shaft.

Installation

• Spreader plug - 3 - and spreader pin - 4 - must always be replaced when performing assembly work on door window.

• Check the door window - 1 - for damage before installing the spreader plug - 3 - and the expanding pin - 4 -.






Perform the following:

- Install the spreader plug - 3 - with the door window removed - 1 - and center it.

- Press in spreader pin - 4 - flush into spreader plug - 3 -.

- Install the door window - 1 - in the door - 2 - - arrows a - and insert the door window into the slot in the window regulator guide - 5 -.

- Secure the window - 1 - with light pressure from above - arrow b - inside the window regulator - 5 -.

Install in reverse order of removal.
