Door Window
• The following describes removing and installing the right door window. Removing and installing the left door window is identical.
Removing
- Removing front door trim panel.
- Remove the cover - 2 -. Refer to => [ Door Cover ] Door Cover.
- Pry the cap - 5 - out.
- Lower the door window - 1 - until the clamping screws - 3 - in the door window are accessible.
• If it is not possible to do this because the window regulator motor is faulty - 6 -, then remove the motor. Refer to => [ Window Regulator Motor ] Window Regulator Motor.
• Then the door window can be moved.
Loosen the clamping screw - 3 - by turning it to the right.
- Turn the clamping screw - 3 - to the right to loosen it (do not remove it) and separate the clamping brackets - 4 -.
- Remove the door window - 1 - out of the brackets - 3 - - arrows a -.
- Lift the rear door window - 1 - and remove it in from the window guides - 2 - - arrow b -.
Installation
- Install the door window - 1 - into the window guides - 2 - - arrow a -.
- Install the door window in the window guide B pillar - arrow A - and slide it up to the end stop into the clamping brackets - arrow B -.
• Make sure the door window is inserted correctly in the window guide - arrow A -.
- Use both hands to press the B-pillar door window all the way to the end stop and into the window guide - arrows -.
- Use both hands to push the door window down - arrow B -.
• And always press the door window into the B-pillar window guide - arrow A -.
- Check to make sure the door window is seated correctly in the B-pillar window guide. - arrow -.
- Tighten down the clamping screw by turning it left - 1 - (the one in back), tightening specification: 8 Nm.
• Use your hand to keep pushing the door window down while tightening - arrow -.
• Leave a gap of - a - 12 cm between the B-pillar and the window while pushing it down.
- Tighten down the clamping screw - 2 - (the front clamping screw) by turning it left, tightening specification: 8 Nm.
• If this method has been properly carried out, then the door window will be seated properly in the window guide - arrow -.
• Perform a functionality test before installing the cap - 5 -, the cover - 2 - and the door trim panel.
