Rear Door Window Motor: Service and Repair

Window Regulator Motor

• Removing and installing the right window regulator motor is described here. Removing and installing the left window regulator motor is identical.

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the trim panel from the rear door.

- Secure the door window with adhesive tape to prevent it from falling down.


• Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment.

• Remove the key.

- Disconnect the connector - 3 -.

- Remove three bolts - 2 -.

- Remove the window regulator motor and control module - 1 - from the mounts on the cable reel.

Installation


It is necessary to code the additional functions and pinch protection each time a new window regulator motor (door control module) is installed.






Perform the following:

- Install the window regulator motor - 1 - in the cable reel mounts. Move the door window gently up and down so that the splines mesh between the motor and cable reel.

- Install the three bolts - 2 -.

Tightening specification - 2 -: 4 Nm

- Connect the connector - 3 -.

- Code the new window regulator motor using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B).

Install in reverse order of removal.
