Gear Shift Unit Overview
• Coat the bearings and sliding surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).
1 Nut
• 23 Nm
• Self-locking
• Always replace.
2 Transmission Shift Lever
• Insert so that master spline aligns with the shift rod.
• Can be replaced with the shift mechanism still installed.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Transmission Shift Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
• Installing, refer to => [ Installing the Transmission Shift Lever ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
• Adjust the shift mechanism after installing. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
3 Sliding Shoe
• Attached into the relay lever - item 5 -.
4 Bushing
• Not needed for the plastic relay lever.
5 Relay Lever
• Installed position, refer to => [ Transmission Shift Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
• Adjust the shift mechanism after installing. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
• Made of plastic from May 2007. Refer to => [ Plastic Relay Lever ] Plastic Relay Lever.
6 Gear Shift Unit
• Consisting of the gear shift shaft and the gear shift cover.
• The components cannot be separated from each other.
• Can be removed and installed with the transmission installed.
• Gear shift shaft adapted together with the revised reverse gear selector fork bearing, see - item 5 - in the => [ Shift Forks ] Shift Forks
• Allocation, gear shift shafts. Refer to => [ Allocation, Gear Shift Shafts ].
7 Bushing
• For the selector shaft.
• Removing and installing, see - item 16 - in the => [ Transmission Housing ] Transmission Housing.
8 O-ring
• Always replace.
• Insert in the groove in the shift cover.
• Install using transmission fluid.
9 Cap
• For the transmission ventilation.
10 Circlip
• For the relay lever
• Not installed with a plastic relay lever.
• Always replace.
11 Selector Shaft Seal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Shaft Seal ] Selector Shaft Seal.
