Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor G179

• The driver thorax airbag crash sensor (G179) is installed on the front door subframe.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). Refer to => [ Seat Belt and Airbag Components, General Safety Precautions ] Seat Belt and Airbag Components, General Safety Precautions.

Perform the following:

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to => [ Driver Side Front Door Trim ] Driver Side Front Door Trim.

- Disconnect the wiring harness - 3 - from the driver side airbag crash sensor (G179) - 2 -.

- Push the catch - arrow - upward with a screwdriver. Remove the bracket - 1 - and crash sensor - 2 - from the subframe.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Turn on the ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
