Trunk Lamp: Service and Repair






Luggage Compartment Lamp (W3)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)


Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

Remove the key.

When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

The Luggage Compartment Lamp is located in the luggage compartment trim on the right side.

Removing

- Pry the luggage compartment lamp - 1 - out of the luggage compartment trim panel - arrow - using the (VAS 3409).






- Disconnect the connector - arrow -.






Replacing a bulb

- Press the contact plate - 1 - on the luggage compartment lamp toward the outside and remove the bulb - 2 - from the socket.






Bulb: Tubular bulb 12 V/10 W


Do not touch the glass of the bulb during installation. Fingers will leave traces of grease on the glass which, when the light is switched on, will evaporate and cloud the glass.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Check the functionality of the luggage compartment lamp.

LED luggage compartment lamps may be installed. The luggage compartment lamp will not function if it is not connected according to the correct polarity.

- Note the polarity.
