Instrument Cluster






Instrument Cluster

General Information

The following components are located inside the instrument cluster:

Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285)

Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module (J362)

Speedometer (G21)

Tachometer (G5)

Fuel gauge (G1)

Coolant temperature gauge (G3)

Multifunction indicator

High version indicator lamps, refer to => [ Indicator Lamp Symbols, High Version ] Indicator Lamp Symbols, High Version.

Low version indicator lamps, gasoline engine, refer to => [ Indicator Lamp Symbols, Low Version ] Indicator Lamp Symbols, Low Version.

Low version indicator lamps, diesel engine, refer to => [ Indicator Lamp Symbols, Low Version ] Indicator Lamp Symbols, Low Version.

To audibly support the visual displays of the instrument panel insert, the Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285) activates a warning buzzer.

All control lamps are equipped with Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs). Servicing the instrument cluster is not planned. In the event of malfunctions, the complete instrument cluster must be replaced. Refer to=> [ Instrument Cluster Replacing ] Testing and Inspection.

The Data bus on board diagnostic interface (J533) is not part of the instrument cluster. Refer to => [ Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533) ] Description and Operation.

DTC Recognition and Display

The instrument cluster is equipped with On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capabilities

Use the "Guided Fault Finding" function on the Vehicle diagnostic tester for fault finding.
