Instrument Cluster Trim, Left and Center Instrument Panel Vents
Removing
- Turn off the ignition.
- Remove the instrument panel center trim. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Center Trim, Vehicles without Climatronic ] Instrument Panel Center Trim, Vehicles without Climatronic.
- Remove the radio, if equipped.
Vehicles with a Radio/Navigation System
- Remove the radio/navigation system.
All Vehicles
- Move the steering wheel to the lowest position.
- Adjust steering wheel depth (reach) so it is in the fully extended position.
- Remove the gap cover from steering column trim using the (3409). Refer to => [ Steering Column Trim ] Service and Repair. It is not necessary to remove the complete steering column trim.
- Remove the bolt - 3 - (1,5 Nm).
- Open the clips on the center vent - arrows - with the (3409) and pull the center vent - 1 - slightly out.
- Open the clips on the left vent with the (3409) and pull the left vent - 1 - slightly out.
- Release the catches - 4 - on the instrument cluster trim - 1 - using the (3409) and pull it out slightly.
- Remove the instrument cluster trim and the left and center instrument panel vents - 1 - from the instrument panel - 2 -, then disconnect the wiring harness for the emergency lamp switch (E3).
Installation
- Install in reverse order of removal.
• Check all the fasteners for damage and replace if necessary.
