After-Run Coolant Pump (V51)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Removing


Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant:

The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.

Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to prevent damage to eyes and scalding.

Reduce pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

- Open the coolant expansion tank cap.

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - from the after-run coolant pump.






- Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208) or (V.A.G 1306).

- Disconnect the coolant hoses - arrows -, clamp off the hoses using the hose clamps up to 25 mm dia (3094).

- Remove the coolant hoses from the after-run coolant pump.

- Remove the after-run coolant pump bracket bolt - 2 -.

Installing

Tightening specification; refer to => [ After-Run Coolant Pump Overview ] After-Run Coolant Pump Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

- Check the coolant level. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Service and Repair.
