Piston Compressing Tool (T10165)

Removal Wedge (3409)

Removing


Adjust the brake piston is permitted only with the Piston Compressing Tool (T10165).

- Remove piston from brake caliper by turning knurled wheel toward left.

Install the (T10165) so that the collar touches the piston.






For pistons that are difficult to move, an open-end wrench (size 13 mm) can be applied at the appropriate wrench surface - arrow A -.

- Remove seal using (3409).






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- The surface of the piston and seal must only be cleaned with mineral spirits and then dried.

- Coat the piston and seal lightly with assembly paste (G 052 150 A2) before installing.

- Place the cap with the outer sealing lip on the piston.






- Using (3409) , insert inner sealing lip into cylinder groove.






Hold piston in front of brake caliper for this procedure.

- Turn the thumbwheel on the (T10165) to the right and install the piston. Be careful not to damage the cap.






- Use the (T10165/1) to help you bolt it on.

Install the (T10165) so that the collar on the (T10165/1) is touching.
