Interior - Cup Holder Loose Or Missing Finger Grips

Center Console Cup Holder, Loose or Missing Finger Grips

Technical Background

The cup holder in center console may have loose or missing finger grips.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

Install Cup Holder Service Kit





1. Remove center console. Refer to Repair Manual Group 68 Interior Equipment in ElsaWeb.

2. Inspect retaining tabs -arrows- for cracks or stress damage. Replace console if retaining tabs are damaged. If console replacement is necessary this technical bulletin does not apply.

3. Replace missing finger grips.

Tip:

- Only replace missing finger grips

- Only fingers grips can be reused





Band Routing Diagram





4. Install tension band from service kit. Ensure band is routed through the slots of all finger grips as shown in Band Routing Diagram above.





Position band into holder as shown.





Note:
DO NOT USE a sharp edge tool(s) to install band. Ensure that the band is not cut, nicked or otherwise damage during installation as this would compromise functionality. If band is damaged during installation it must be replaced.

5. Using two wedge tools to work the band into holder.

6. Install center console. Refer to Repair Manual Group 68 Interior Equipment in ElsaWeb.
