Noise Insulation and Roof Reinforcement
Removing
- Remove headliner. Refer to => [ Headliner - Sedan ] Headliner - Sedan.
- Cut the noise insulation/roof reinforcements - 1 - and - 2 - with a carpet knife in strips - 3 - approximately 6 cm wide - broken lines -.
- Remove the strips - 3 - from the roof.
- Remove any remaining adhesive - 4 - using (V.A.G 1561 A) and (V.A.G 1561/20) - 5 -.
• If paint structure was damaged while removing roof insulation/reinforcements, paint damage must be repaired.
Vehicles with Sunroof
- Remove headliner. Refer to => [ Headliner - Sedan ] Headliner - Sedan.
- Cut the noise insulation/roof reinforcements - 1 - into strips - 4 -, approximately 6 cm wide, with a carpet knife - broken lines -.
- Remove the strips - 4 - from the roof.
- Remove any remaining adhesive - 3 - using (V.A.G 1561 A) and (V.A.G 1561/20) - 3 -.
• If paint structure was damaged while removing roof insulation/reinforcements, paint damage must be repaired.
Installation
• Processing instructions of adhesive must be observed when installing roof insulation/reinforcements.
- Apply 1K assembly adhesive (D 190 MKD A3) to the noise insulation/roof reinforcements - 1 - and - 2 - using (V.A.G 1628).
- Apply the 1K assembly adhesive in beads according to the following dimensions:
• Dimension a = 61 mm
• Dimension b = 25 mm
• Dimension c = 34 mm
• Dimension d = 33 mm
• Dimension e = 35 mm
• Dimension f = 65 mm
• Dimension g = 129 mm
- From inside the vehicle, press the noise insulation/roof reinforcements - 1 - and - 2 - onto the roof over the entire surface.
Vehicles with Sunroof
- Apply 1K assembly adhesive (D 190 MKD A3) on the noise insulation/roof reinforcements using (V.A.G 1628) - 1 -.
- Apply the 1K assembly adhesive in beads according to the following dimensions:
• Dimension a = 25 mm
• Dimension b = 61 mm
• Dimension c = 70 mm
• Dimension d = 33 mm
- From inside the vehicle, press the noise insulation/roof reinforcements - 1 - onto the roof over the entire surface.
