Headlamp Motor: Service and Repair

Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor


• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

Removing

Check the headlamp range control positioning motor using the (Vehicle diagnostic tester) before removing it. Refer to => [ HID Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor, Checking ] HID Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor, Checking.

- Remove the headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.

- Remove the cap - 1 -.






- Remove the HID bulb. Refer to => [ HID Bulb ] HID Bulb.

- Turn the adjustment motor - 1 - using a small screwdriver in - direction of arrow -.






Move the motor to the rear - arrow - once the end position is reached.

- Push the ball end of the positioning stem out of the reflector joint - 1 - and remove the adjustment motor from the bayonet - 2 -.






- Release and disconnect the connector on the adjustment motor.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Perform basic setting of headlamps. Refer to => [ HID Headlamp, Adjusting ] HID Headlamp, Adjusting.
