Driver Front Airbag Crash Sensor G283, Jetta from MY 05 and Golf Wagon from MY 10, USA

• The driver front airbag crash sensor (G283) is located on the left side of the lock carrier on the front.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions.

Perform the following:

- Disconnect the battery.

- Release the connector lock and disconnect the connector - 1 - from the driver front airbag crash sensor (G283) - 3 -.






- Remove the bolt - 2 - (4.5 Nm) and the driver front airbag crash sensor (G283) - 3 -.

Installing






- Install the driver front airbag crash sensor (G283) - 3 -. The tab - arrow A - must fit into the hole - arrow B -.

• This assures the driver front airbag crash sensor (G283) will be installed correctly.

- Install the bolt - 2 - and tighten it to 4.5 Nm.

- Connect the connector - 1 - and lock it.

- Turn on the ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
