2 Seal
• Always replace.
• Installing, refer to => [ Installing the Seal Between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter ].
3 Clamp
• 7 Nm
• Always replace.
• Note the installed position, refer to => [ Installed Position of the Clamp between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter ].
4 Exhaust Door Control Unit (J883)
• Note the installed position.
• Heat shield and connector wire routing, refer to => [ Exhaust System Component Wire Routing ] Description and Operation.
5 Reduction Catalytic Converter
• Exhaust system, checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Checking for Leaks ] Testing and Inspection.
6 Front Muffler
7 Clamping Sleeve
• Note the installed position, refer to => [ Clamping Sleeve Location ].
• Align the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Tighten the bolts evenly.
8 Nut
• 23 Nm
Installing the Seal Between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter
- Insert the seal - 2 - with the angled tab - B - in the notch - A - on the NOx reduction catalytic converter - 1 -.
- Insert the exhaust door control unit - 3 - with the retaining tab - C - in the notch - A -.
Installed Position of the Clamp between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter
- Install the new clamp so the bolt is opposite the exhaust door control unit housing and the - 45 +/- 10° - angle is maintained.
Clamping Sleeve Location
- When installing the clamping sleeve, ensure that the bolt end - arrow - does not project beyond the lower edge of the clamping sleeve:
• Threaded connection points toward the right.
• Tighten the threaded connections equally to 23 Nm.
