Removing

- Switch off the ignition.

- Remove the trim in the center of the instrument panel (Jetta from MY 10, Golf Wagon from MY 10). Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Center Trim, Jetta from MY 2010 and Golf Wagon from MY 2010 ] Instrument Panel Center Trim, Jetta from MY 2010 and Golf Wagon from MY 2010.

Vehicles with a storage compartment in the center of the instrument panel

- Remove the radio, if equipped.

- Remove the storage compartment in the center of the instrument panel (Jetta from MY 2010, Golf Wagon from MY 2010). Vehicles with a radio/navigation system

- Remove the radio/navigation system.

All vehicles

- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove the four clips - arrows - using the trim removal wedge (3409) , and remove the center vent from the instrument panel - 1 -.

- Disconnect the connector on the emergency flasher switch (E3) and remove the center vent.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
