Antitheft Motion Sensor: Service and Repair







Anti-Theft Alarm System Sensor (G578), from MY 2010

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

The anti-theft alarm system sensor includes the vehicle inclination sensor (G384) and the interior monitoring sensor (G273) (two sensors).

The anti-theft alarm system sensor cannot be disassembled.


Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

Remove the key.

When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removal

The anti-theft alarm system sensor can be checked before it is removed with the Vehicle diagnostic tester (from MY 2010), refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System Sensor (G578) Checking, from MY 10 ] Anti-Theft Alarm System Sensor (G578) Checking, from MY 10.

- Remove the front interior lamp (W1).

Vehicles with a sunroof, refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp (W1) ] Front Interior Lamp (W1).

Vehicles without a sunroof, refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp (W1) ] Front Interior Lamp (W1).

- Remove the screws - arrows A -, release the tabs - arrows B - and remove the bracket from the headliner in - direction of arrow C -.






- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the interior monitoring transceiver module 1 (G303) - 1 -.






- Release interior monitoring transceiver module 1 - 1 - at the tab - arrow -.

- Release the tabs and remove interior monitoring transceiver module 1 from the headliner.






Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.
