Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Assembly Tool (T10118)
• Double Hexagon Socket, 1/2, 27mm (VAS 5301/7)
• Follow the safety measures for releasing the high side fuel pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Releasing ] Service and Repair.
• For safety reasons, remove the fuel pump control module fuse from the fuse panel before opening the fuel system. This prevents the fuel pump from being activated by the driver door contact switch.
Removing
- Loosen the coolant pipe and oil dipstick guide from the intake manifold - arrows - and pull off the oil dipstick guide upward from the engine.
- Release the fuel pressure sensor connector using the assembly tool (T10118).
The fuel supply line is under pressure. Always wear protective eyewear and protective clothing to prevent injuries and fuel from coming in contact with your skin. Lay a cloth at the connection points before loosening the hose connections. Then reduce the pressure by carefully removing the hose.
- Remove the fuel pressure sensor using the double hexagon socket, 1/2, 27mm (VAS 5301/7).
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
