Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Ratchet Insert 1/4" (VAS 6234)

• TORX(R) Bit Set (V.A.G 1766)

• Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A)

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

- Remove the engine cover with air filter. Refer to => [ Engine Cover with Air Filter ] Engine Cover With Air Filter.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Loosen the wiring harness bracket - 2 -.

- Remove the bolt - 3 -.

• Do not pull out the camshaft adjustment valve 1 at the connector.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the camshaft adjustment valve 1 from the housing.






Installing



• The camshaft adjustment valve 1 as well as the housing must be free of dirt and contaminants.

• Remove the new camshaft adjustment valve 1 from packaging only prior to installation.


• The camshaft adjustment valve 1 must not be subjected to knocks and impacts.

- Coal the seal with engine oil.

- Install the camshaft adjustment valve 1 carefully into the housing and push it all the way in by hand perpendicular to the valve axis.

- Tighten the bolts to 4 Nm.

Further installation is in reverse order of removal

- Install the engine cover with air filter. Refer to => [ Engine Cover with Air Filter ] Engine Cover With Air Filter.
