Glove Compartment







Glove Compartment

Removing

- Switch off ignition.

- Remove side instrument panel cover on front passenger side. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Side Covers ] Instrument Panel Side Covers

- Remove the center trim from the A-pillar on the passenger side. Refer to => [ Center A-Pillar Trim ] Center A-Pillar Trim

- Remove the lower trim from the A-pillar on the passenger side. Refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim, Passenger Side ] Lower A-Pillar Trim, Passenger Side

Golf from MY 09

- Remove instrument panel center trim. Refer to => [ Trim, Instrument Panel, Center, Golf from MY 09 ] Trim, Instrument Panel, Center, Golf From MY 09

- Remove the trim around the A/C and heater controls. Refer to => [ Trim, A/C and Heater Controls, Golf from MY 09 ] Trim, A/C and Heater Controls, Golf From MY 09

- Remove the center cover (Golf from MY 09).

Vehicles with automatic transmission

- Loosen the selector lever boot off the cover.

Vehicles with manual and DSG transmission

- Loosen the selector lever boot off the cover.

- Remove the storage compartment or ashtray (Golf from MY 09). Refer to => [ Storage Compartment/Ashtray, Golf from MY 09 ] Storage Compartment/Ashtray, Golf From MY 09.

- On the Golf from MY 09, remove the two bolts - 2 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove the cover on the center console - 1 - - in direction of arrow -.






- On vehicles with a headlamp range control module (J431) or a headlamp range/cornering lamp control module (J745) , remove the bolt - 1 - (1.5 Nm).






All vehicles

- Remove the 7 bolts - 1 -, - 2 -, and - 3 - (1.5 Nm)

- Slide the glove compartment all the way out - arrow A -.

- Disengage the glove compartment from the instrument panel - arrow B -.

- Disconnect wiring harness from lights and contact switch.

- In vehicles with glove compartment cooling, disconnect A/C channel from glove compartment.

- In vehicles with footwell lights, disconnect wiring harness from lights.






Installing

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

Storage Compartment Cover, Retrofitting

The self in the glove compartment for the Owner's Manual is not designed to hold small items. There is a "cover" that can be installed and can be used to hold small items.

The glove compartment is removed.

- Install the "cover" - 1 - in the back of the owner's manual slot.
