Auxiliary Fuel Pump V393 or Fuel Pump 2 V277 (In-line Fuel Pump)

Due to a software revision, the component name for the in-line electric fuel pump was changed from "auxiliary fuel pump" to "fuel pump 2". They are the same component.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6340)

Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Remove the bracket for the sensor, including the sensor by sliding it in the direction of travel.






- Disconnect the connector - A - and remove the fuel hoses - B -.






- Open the clamp and remove the fuel hose (- item 6 - in the => [ Fuel Filter Overview ] Fuel Filter Overview) from the fuel filter flange.

- Disconnect the connector from the fuel temperature sensor - arrow -, loosen the clamp - 1 - and remove the fuel supply hose from the high pressure pump.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the auxiliary fuel pump/fuel pump 2.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Route the fuel hoses free of kinks

Make sure the fuel hoses are secure.

Do not interchange the supply and return lines (the return line is blue or has a blue mark, the supply line is white or has a white mark).

Clip the fuel and coolant hoses back into the retainers.

Tightening specification for the sensor bracket: 8 Nm
