Procedure 2
Routing Tension Band 1
• To support roof, both sides of luggage compartment trim should be either removed or installed.
• The bypass screw on the hydraulic pump must be opened after the repair position has been reached on vehicle from May 07. This prevents damaging the hydraulic system.
- Open roof with convertible top operating switch until rear lid with rear shelf is tipped back.
- Open hydraulic pump bypass valve.
- Place Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) in center position - 2 -.
- Secure Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) on rear window frame locking mechanism - 1 -.
- Lower rear window frame until supports - 4 - are positioned on longitudinal member - 5 -.
• All screws are microencapsulated and must always be replaced.
• Screw tightening torque: 3 Nm.
• Roof pillar trim - 7 - is not installed.
- Secure eye - 2 - on rear guide rail. Alignment of eye is parallel to outer edge of guide rail.
- Secure guide spring eye - 3 - on rear window frame hinge.
- Secure guide spring eye - 4 - on rear arm of rear window frame hinge.
- Secure eye - 5 - from inside on front arm of rear window frame hinge. Alignment of eye is parallel to edge of arm.
- Secure end eye - 6 - on rear arm of rear window frame hinge. Alignment of eye is vertical toward top.
