Procedure 1

Routing Tension Band 1

When the luggage compartment trim is installed, make sure the support is not positioned in the opening on the longitudinal member.

To support roof, both sides of luggage compartment trim should be either removed or installed.

The bypass screw on the hydraulic pump must be opened after the repair position has been reached on vehicle from May 2007. This prevents damaging the hydraulic system.

Tensioned headliner is installed.

- Open the roof with the convertible top switch until it is just before the position shown.

- Place Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) in lowest position - 2 -.

- Place the hinge supports (VAS 6365) in the mounting hole in the main hinge - 1 - and rotate the base - 4 - so that it is not positioned in the opening in the longitudinal.

- Switch the ignition off. The roof lowers in stages until the supports are resting on the longitudinal member.

All screws are microencapsulated and must always be replaced.

Screw tightening torque: 3.5 Nm.

- Secure double eye - 2 - on main hinge arm. Direction of double eye is parallel to edge of outrigger.

- Secure eye - 3 - to main hinge securing plate. Alignment of eye is parallel to edge of main hinge.

- Secure eye - 4 - to inner side of main hinge.

- Secure end eye - 5 - via eye - 3 - together on main hinge securing plate. The alignment of the eyes is parallel to edge of securing plate.

After redirecting through eyes - 3 and 5 -, tensioning band must not touch in further route.
