General Information

If a bumper cover is repaired or a new bumper cover is installed, the parking aid sensor brackets must be glued into the marked adhesive areas provided for them on the inside of the bumper cover. The sensors must be painted to match the color of the bumper cover before installation. The following requirements must be observed when painting the sensors to ensure the parking aid system will work correctly. The sensor brackets of the parking aid must not be painted prior to adhesion since they do not have a collar that is visible on the outside of the bumper cover. Preparation of the adhesive contact surface and the adhesive process are to be performed while observing the following process steps. Use the corresponding repair set. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Process steps:

• Paint of the parking aid sensor, refer to=> [ Parking Aid Sensor, Painting ] Parking Aid Sensor, Painting.

• Allocation of the parking aid sensor bracket to the installation location, refer to=> [ Allocating Parallel Parking Assistance Sensor Brackets To Installation Location ] Allocating Parallel Parking Assistance Sensor Brackets To Installation Location.

• Glue the parking aid sensor bracket into the bumper cover, refer to=> [ Gluing Parking Aid Sensor Bracket Into Bumper Cover ] Gluing Parking Aid Sensor Bracket Into Bumper Cover.

• Pay attention to the installation instructions in the repair kit.
