Procedure 1
Routing Tension Band 1
• When the luggage compartment trim is installed, make sure the support is not positioned in the opening on the longitudinal member.
• To support roof, both sides of luggage compartment trim should be either removed or installed.
• The bypass screw on the hydraulic pump must be opened after the repair position has been reached on vehicle from May 2007. This prevents damaging the hydraulic system.
• Tensioned headliner is installed.
- Open the roof with the convertible top switch until it is just before the position shown.
- Place Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) in lowest position - 2 -.
- Place the hinge supports (VAS 6365) in the mounting hole in the main hinge - 1 - and rotate the base - 4 - so that it is not positioned in the opening in the longitudinal.
- Switch the ignition off. The roof lowers in stages until the supports are resting on the longitudinal member.
• All screws are microencapsulated and must always be replaced.
• Screw tightening torque: 3.5 Nm.
- Secure double eye - 2 - on main hinge arm. Direction of double eye is parallel to edge of outrigger.
- Secure eye - 3 - to main hinge securing plate. Alignment of eye is parallel to edge of main hinge.
- Secure eye - 4 - to inner side of main hinge.
- Secure end eye - 5 - via eye - 3 - together on main hinge securing plate. The alignment of the eyes is parallel to edge of securing plate.
• After redirecting through eyes - 3 and 5 -, tensioning band must not touch in further route.
