Trailer Hitch Assembly Overview

• The tightening specifications only apply to factory-installed trailer hitches.

• Obtain tightening specifications of other tow hitches from corresponding manufacturer.

• Electrical information can be found under Repair Information Wiring Diagram Trailer Operation.






1 Trailer Hitch

• Removing rear bumper carrier, refer to => [ Rear Bumper Cover ] Rear Bumper Cover from 01.11.

• Trailer hitch with removable ball head - 4 - is depicted.

2 Bolt

• Sealing threaded connections

• 2 on each side

• Tightening specification: 20 Nm

Bolts - 2 - are sealing threaded connections and seal the interior from exhaust gases and must be installed in any case.

3 Protective cap

4 Ball head

• Removable ball head is stored in foldable luggage compartment floor.

5 Bolt

• 2 on each side

• Tightening specification: 50 Nm + 90°

Bolts - 5 - must always be replaced after loosening.
