Rear Door Window

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Trim removal wedge (3409)

This removal and installation procedure describes the left door window. The procedure is the same for the right door window.

Removing






- Remove rear door trim..

- Loosen the inner front and rear window shaft seal - 2 - from the clips and remove them from the flange.

- Remove the caps with the trim removal wedge (3409).

- Lower the door window, until the clamping bolts - 3 and 5 - for the door window are accessible.

- Loosen the bolt - 5 - but do not remove it all the way. Press the clamping bracket together.

- Remove the bolt - 3 - entirely.

- Remove the door window - 1 - upward - arrow - out of the window shaft.

If the work step is not possible due to a malfunction via the electrical window regulator, window regulator motor can be unscrewed to be able to slide window down.

Installation






- Attach the retaining clip - 6 - to the door window - arrow a - and fold it up - arrows b -.

- Guide the door window - 1 - into the door - arrow c -. Make sure the door window is inserted correctly in the window guide - 2 -.

- Without using any pressure, guide the door window - arrow c - into the clamping brackets - 5 -.

- Align the door window to the window guide - arrow d -.

- Tighten the bolts - 3 and 4 - to the tightening specification: 8 Nm.

- Continue by performing the steps used in removal in reverse order.

The functions test is performed before the door trim is installed.
