Condition

Groan and or Screech Noise from Transmission during High Load Clutch Operation

Tip:
This concern can usually be duplicated under high loads. Example: Starting on a steep incline with low engine
power (RPMs).

Where accessible, refer to the attached sound file for an example of the noise.

Note:
If the noise present in the sound file is not the noise the customer is complaining about, further diagnosis is needed.

Technical Background

The clutch hub springs break down causing a vibration through the pressure plate creating the noise.

Production Solution

Improved clutch assembly installed.

Service

Replace the clutch assembly with part number 06J 141 015 JX. See repair group 30 in ElsaWeb.
