Shift Knob, Boot and Noise Insulation

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1275)

• Special Hook (3370)

Removing

- Open the ashtray.






- Push the special hook (3370) all the way under the plastic frame for the boot - arrow 1 -.

- Remove the boot with plastic frame from the center console frame - A - in the - direction of arrow 2 -

- Hold the frame for the center console - A - tight.

It must not be removed.

Connectors for various switches could be loosened unintentionally.

- Roll the boot up over the shift knob.

- Open the clamp - arrow - and remove the shift knob and boot.






- Remove the noise insulation, if equipped.

Installing

- If equipped, insert the noise insulation first.

The - A arrow - points in the direction of travel.

The tabs - B arrows - must latch into the center console.

- Turn the inside of the boot toward the outside.

Install the shift knob all the way on.

- Install the shift knob and boot and squeeze the new clamp - arrow - together.






- First, insert the boot plastic frame at the rear.
