Shock Absorber

Shock absorber, with adaptive chassis DCC removing and installing. Refer to => [ Shock Absorber, with Adaptive Chassis DCC ] Shock Absorber, with Adaptive Chassis DCC.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (40-200 Nm) (V.A.G 1332)

Removing

- Remove the wheel.

- Remove the wheel housing liner..

- Remove the coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.

- Remove the shock absorber upper bolts - arrows - from the body.






- Remove the shock absorber lower bolt - arrow - from the wheel bearing housing.






- Remove the shock absorber.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

The bolted connection of the shock absorber to the wheel bearing housing must only be tightened when dimension "a" is achieved. Refer to => [ Tightening of the respective bolts/nuts must then only occur after dimension between the wheel hub center and the lower edge of the wheel housing has been attained. ] Rear Subframe!

- Install the shock absorber upper bolts - arrows - to the body.






- Tighten the shock absorber lower bolt - arrow - to the wheel bearing housing.






- Install the coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.

- Install the wheel housing liner..

- Install the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts. Refer to => [ Wheel Bolt Tightening Specifications ] [1][2]Specifications.
