Hydraulic Fluid Filter - ASMT: Service and Repair
Oil Filter
• The transmission oil filter usually does not need to be replaced.
• Changing the transmission fluid filter "yes or no". Refer to => [ When To Change the Oil Filter ] General Repair Information.
Removing
- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.
- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to one of the following:
Gas engines
- Remove the battery and battery tray.
• A little bit of oil remains inside the filter housing. This will drain out once the filter housing is removed.
• Lay some cloths down near the filter before removing it.
- Loosen the filter housing - arrow - approximately 7 turns.
- Wait 10 seconds.
This way the oil can drain from the filter housing back into the transmission.
- Remove the filter housing and filter.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
- Clean thoroughly any areas on the transmission that get wet with oil.
- Install the oil filter with the collar - arrow - on the bottom.
- Install the oil filter housing and tighten it to 20 Nm.
Further installation is performed in the reverse sequence.
