Side Marker Lamp Bulb
The sidemarker lamp is only installed on vehicles for USA and Canada and replaces the parking lamp.
• The left and right sidemarker lamps can be checked with the vehicle electrical system control module (J519) output diagnostic test mode.
Removing
- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).
• During removal and installation, leave ignition key with remote control inside the vehicle to prevent the doors from locking and possibly activating the "Coming Home / Leaving Home" functions on its own.
- Remove the headlamp. Refer to 357 => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp or 358 => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.
- Turn the socket - 1 - left to release it and pull it with the sidemarker lamp bulb - 2 - back out of the headlamp housing - 3 -.
- Remove the sidemarker lamp bulb - 2 - in the direction of the - arrow - from the bulb socket - 1 -.
Sidemarker lamp bulb: 12 V, W 5 W
Installing
• Make sure the socket engages correctly in the headlamp when installing the sidemarker lamp bulb. Water getting in the headlamp will cause damage.
• Do not touch the glass of the light bulb, when installing. Fingerprints will leave traces of grease on the glass which will evaporate and cloud the glass when the lamp is switched on.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Check headlamp for function.
