High Beam Headlamp Bulb: 358






High Beam Headlamp Bulb

Left High Beam Headlamp (M30) and Right High Beam Headlamp (M32) can be checked via output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519).

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and turn the key to the 0 position.

During removal and installation, leave the ignition key of the radio remote control in the passenger compartment of the vehicle to prevent locking of the doors and automatic activation of the "Coming Home/Leaving Home" functions if applicable.

For reasons of clarity, the headlamp is shown in the uninstalled state.

It is not necessary to remove the headlamp in order to remove and install the high beam headlamp bulbs.

The following illustrations show changing the left high beam headlamp bulb (M30).

Removing and installing the right high beam headlamp bulb (M32) is identical.

- Remove the cap - 3 -.






- Remove the bulb socket and the high beam headlamp bulb - 1 - from the reflector starting at the top. Pay attention to the wires still connected.






- Pull the high beam headlamp bulb - 2 - straight out of the bulb socket - 1 - in - direction of arrow -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

During installation, ensure proper seating of the cap. It is destroyed by entry of water into headlamp.

Do not touch the glass of the bulb during installation. Fingers will leave traces of grease on the glass which, when the light is switched on, will evaporate and cloud the glass.

- Insert the high beam headlamp bulb into the opening in the reflector with the tabs facing down and then swivel it into the top until the bulb locks into place.

- Install the cap.

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and correct it if necessary.
