High Beam Headlamp Bulb
• Left High Beam Headlamp (M30) and Right High Beam Headlamp (M32) can be checked via output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519).
Removing
- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).
• During removal and installation, leave ignition key with remote control inside the vehicle to prevent the doors from locking and possibly activating the "Coming Home / Leaving Home" functions on its own.
• The following illustrations show how to replace the right high beam headlamp (M32).
• The procedure for removing and installing the left high beam headlamp (M30) is the same.
• The illustration shows the removal and installation procedure on a headlamp that has been removed. It is not necessary to remove the headlamp when replacing the high beam headlamp bulb.
- Remove the cap - 1 - from the back of the headlamp.
• A retaining clip - 1 - holds the high beam bulb - 2 - in the reflector.
• Do not disconnect the connector first - 3 - when removing the high beam bulb.
- Press the connector - 3 - in the - direction of the arrow - until the bulb feels looser.
- Pull the high beam bulb at the connector back out of the reflector - 3 -. Be careful of the connected wires.
- Pull high beam headlamp - 2 - from harness connector - 1 -.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Connect the connector on the high beam headlamp bulb.
- Guide high beam headlamp into headlamp housing.
- Press the high beam headlamp bulb - 1 - into the illustrated installation position in the reflector.
• High beam headlamp must engage audibly.
• When installing cap, ensure proper seating. It is destroyed by ingress of water into headlamp.
• Do not touch the glass of the light bulb, when installing. Fingerprints will leave traces of grease on the glass which will evaporate and cloud the glass when the lamp is switched on.
- Check headlamp for function.
- Check headlamp adjustment and adjust headlamp if necessary.
