Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair






High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb M25

The high-mounted brake lamp is located at the upper edge of the rear window.

The remaining lights of high-mounted brake lamp are generated by LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes).

The high-mounted brake lamp cannot be disassembled.

If damaged, the entire high-mounted brake lamp must be replaced.

When replacing, note that there are two different versions of the high-mounted brake lamp depending on vehicle equipment. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).

- Pull the high-mounted brake lamp in the - direction of the arrow - back out of the mounts - 1 -. Be careful of the connected wires.






- Raise the connector retainer - 1 - and remove the connector - 2 -.






- Remove high-mounted brake lamp from vehicle.

Installing

Install in reverse order.
