Oil System Capacity
For the correct engine oil and specification, refer to the Fluid Capacity Tables.
Changing the oil, refer to Maintenance Procedures.
Checking the Oil Level
• The oil level must not exceed the MAX mark - danger of damaging the catalytic converter!
Conditions
• The engine oil temperature is a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F).
• The vehicle is on level ground.
• After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan.
Sequence
- Pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and reinsert it all the way into the guide tube.
- Pull out the oil dipstick again and check the oil level.
Range of marks on the dipstick:
a Oil must not be added.
b Oil may be filled.
c Oil must be added.
• The oil level must not exceed the MAX. mark - arrow 1 - and must not fall short of the MIN. mark - arrow 2 -.
