Front Coolant Pipes






Front Coolant Pipes

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Removing

The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.

Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

Reduce pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a cloth and opening carefully.

- Open the coolant expansion tank cap.

- Remove the cover for the air duct, disengage the side clips - arrows - to do so.






- Unclip the lower air duct, disengage the clips - arrows - to do so.






- Remove both the lower air duct and the intake air duct.

with a Noise Generator






- Open the clip - 1 -, unclip the fuel lines - 2 - and loosen the bolts - 3 -. Remove the charge air pipe.

with a Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Inside the Engine Compartment

- Disconnect the vent line - 1 -, unlock the EVAP canister - A - and remove it - B -. Move the EVAP canister to the side.






Continuation for All






- Loosen the hose clamp - 2 -.

- Remove the bolt - 4 -.

- Disconnect the connector - arrow - and free up the electrical wire.

- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to one of the following:

GTI and Tiguan

Eos and Passat

CC

- Remove the charge air hose - 1 and 2 - and plug the charge air cooler with a clean cloth.






- Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the charge air pipe downward.






- Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208) under the engine.






- Remove the coolant hoses from the after-run coolant pump - arrows -.

- Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 - and remove the front coolant pipes from the coolant hoses - arrows -.






Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pipes Overview ] Coolant Pipes Overview.

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Always replace gaskets and seals.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Assembly of charge air hose connections with connection couplings. Refer to => [ Charge Air Hose, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Charge Air Hose, Disconnecting and Connecting.
