Removing

- Switch off the ignition.

- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment ] Glove Compartment

- Remove instrument panel center trim. Refer to => [ Center Instrument Panel Trim, Passat from MY 2006, Passat Wagon from MY 2006, and Passat CC from MY 2009 ] Center Instrument Panel Trim, Passat from MY 2006, Passat Wagon from MY 2006, and Passat CC from MY 2009

- Remove instrument cluster trim. Refer to => [ Instrument Cluster Trim, Passat from MY 2006, Passat Wagon from MY 2006, and Passat CC from MY 2009 ] Instrument Cluster Trim, Passat from MY 2006, Passat Wagon from MY 2006, and Passat CC from MY 2009

- Remove passenger side instrument panel trim. Refer to => [ Front Passenger Side Instrument Panel Trim, Passat from MY 2006, Passat Wagon from MY 2006, and Passat CC from MY 2009 ] Front Passenger Side Instrument Panel Trim, Passat from MY 2006, Passat Wagon from MY 2006, and Passat CC from MY 2009

- Pry trim - 1 - out of mounts in area around catches using Trim Removal Wedge (3409).

- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove cover plate carrier - 3 - from instrument panel.

- Disconnect the wiring harness from the emergency flasher button (E229).






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
