Removing

• Whenever removing and installing parts that are visible (switches, cover, trim, etc.) where a pry tool ( trim removal wedge (3409) , screwdriver) is going to be used, cover the area around the part with tape.

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and then unlock the key in position 0 (stop).

- Unclip the boot from the center console.

- Pry out the trim - 1 -.






- Remove the screws - arrows -.






- Push the tabs near the screws - arrows - to the rear.

- Lift the button module on the front passenger side - 1 - and on the driver side button module - 2 - out of the center console and move them to the side.

• The heating or cooling mechanism is not shown in the illustration.

- Remove ashtray insert - 1 - or compartment - 2 -.

- remove two screws - 3 - and - 4 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove ashtray - 5 - or storage compartment - 6 - from center console and disconnect wiring harness if necessary.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
