Hood Insulator / Pad: Service and Repair

Insulation

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pry lever (80-200)

Removing






- Pry the retaining clips - 1 - out of the hood - 4 - with the pry lever (80-200).

- Support the hood - 4 -.

- Remove the gas-filled strut - 3 -.

- Remove the insulation - 2 - from the elongated holes.

Installation






• When installing the noise insulation - 2 -, be sure to install the retaining clips - 1 - with the wide side facing out.

- Slide the insulation - 2 - with the mounting tabs into the elongated holes.

- Lock all the clips - 1 - into the hood - 4 -.

- Press the gas-filled strut - 3 - onto the ball pin for the hood - 4 -.
